I had a hard time getting into this book, as I felt nothing in common with the young saint. Then somewhere in the middle of her story her experiences entered into mine. Since reading this book I have been living my life differently.

I good edition, complete with many extra letters and prayers by St. Therese usually not included in most other editions.
It's a classic both as a religious book and as candid account of her childhood.
This book is a must-read; if you understand it when you read it, well, then you know how beautiful it is. If you don't quite, or if you don't understand it at all, then some day later it will come to you, buried in your mind, and you will say "Aha, THAT's what she meant", and you will feel how beautiful it is. I read this book, understood some things but not others, but was definitely inspired. Now I find myself remembering and understanding things I did not understand at the time, and my conclusion is that Therese really was a great saint after all and this book bears re-reading!
I bought this to compliment a study on Divine Mercy. We were reading about Therese of Lisieux and I wanted to actually read what she had written. She wrote her letters in French so I have to trust that it is a good translation. I have read the book in small increments to go with the study that we were discussing. I found the book informative.
This autobiography of St. Thérèse of Lisieux is touching and hopeful. Such wisdom from a young woman of great faith. The additional writings and thoughts at the end of the book were a blessing and lovely gift from the author. It has made me look and live each day to the fullest.

Wow! This was an amazing story. It was incredible to read about someone who was so pious and devout at such a young age. Even when I struggled with what I saw as her perfection, she gave words of encouragement by describing Mary Magdalen and the way Jesus loved and forgave her sins. It is fascinating to know that this book was read by many people after it was published. I really loved her little way.
