Fate Succumbs Timber Wolves Trilogy Book 3 eBook Tammy Blackwell

I am a huge fan of this series, it has been one of my faves so far and I've read the first two books multiple times. This 3rd install however has left me a little disappointed. Another review stated it was kind of slow compared to the others and someone else mentioned the ending battle being over rather quickly and I have to agree. We've been hearing about the battle between Scout and Sarvarna since book 1 and it turned out to be very vague and not exciting at all in my opinion; I would have enjoyed a little more action between the two.

Without giving away too many details, her relationship in this book didn't seem to have the spark that she had with Alex so it made it difficult to accept they were supposed to be soul mates - again just my opinion. There could be a number of factors that plays into the disconnect but I can't go into that without explaining who I am talking about and I don't want to ruin that for someone who hasn't read the book yet. Ultimately, the relationship just felt like something was lacking to me.

Overall, the book was ok but it wasn't as great as the first two. I would still recommend this book just to get the answers to the many questions you had from the previous. Plus there are a couple lines in there that will have you laughing out loud and I can appreciate that.

Fate Succumbs Timber Wolves Trilogy Book 3 eBook Tammy Blackwell Reviews

OK. So I finished reading earlier this afternoon, and it's taken me a while to post this review, mainly because I had mixed feelings on how I felt about it. I want to be honest here, and hopefully no one will kill me. *crosses fingers* Here goes.

First, I'll say that I have loved, loved, loved this series, generally, in its entirety, as evidenced by my reviews on the first two books Destiny Binds, and Time Mends. However I'm not sure I could say the same for this third and last book. I think it's because I expected too much of it in my mind, and like put it up on a golden pedestal of high expectations, while waiting for it to be released, and imagined several different endings to it, other than how it ended, that I can't help feeling a tiny bit disappointed. I don't want to give specifics, because I don't want to ruin it to other readers who've yet to make their final journey with Scout and the gang. Even as I type this, my feelings are conflicted on it; so much so that a tiny piece of my heart breaks. I just can't believe it's finished.

I felt that too much of the book was spent on Scout & Liam 'on the road' hiding, when perhaps it could've had more on the main concern and issue on their hands - taking care of that "Alpha" matter on both sides. There was a lot of info on Shifters and her history that Scout learns and I enjoyed that because it also helped me understand how it all came to be where they are, a bit better. And there were moments when I did get teary-eyed, it couldn't be helped, I'm sure you'll might pass thru that as well as you read.

I am giving it 4 stars, because I did LIKE the book, and I gotta say that cover is just AWESOME! I think it's a beautiful cover; I fell in love with the cover from the first time it was released. Maybe once I read it again, my feelings on it will get clearer, so I look forward to that - I do want to re-read them all from beginning to end. And I look forward to the next series Mrs Blackwell has for us. =)
Tammy Blackwell did everything right. That's really the only thing I can say about the conclusion of the Timber Wolves series. YA authors take note. This is how you do it. This is how you write a story that rings true despite fantastical elements like Shifters, Seers and Immortals.

1. Scout Donovan is a main character I can get behind. She doesn't let boys fight her battles for her, she doesn't make stupid decisions like "if I go take care of this myself and don't tell anyone, I can protect the people I love." She has an actual personality, likes and dislikes--books, movies, etc. The most important aspect of Scout is that she makes things happen instead of lets them happen to her. She doesn't feel lost inside a world that's going on around her. She fights for normalcy despite the world that's going on around her. She's a REAL PERSON.

2. Liam wasn't some over the top Prince Charming. He was a REAL GUY and the relationship between him and Scout developed over a long period of time, instead of "I'm in love with this girl for nooooo reason." JUST LIKE A REAL PERSON.

3. The characters didn't automatically get together because they just "knew it was right." They both showed vulnerability, right up until the end when Scout was afraid to touch Liam because she was afraid of rejection. JUST LIKE A REAL PERSON.

4. The pace of the story moved. It didn't dwell on Scout's feelings for Charlie or Alex or Liam. They were there, but I didn't have to hear all the time about how confused Scout was. She wasn't confused because she is a person who is in tune with her feelings and feelings change all the time. She kept moving forward. JUST LIKE A REAL PERSON.

5. Scout's friends and family are people with personalities who have an influence on and interact with Scout. They aren't ancillary beings who arrive when it's convenient for the author. They confide in one another. They help each other make decisions. You get the sense of WHY the main character cares so much about her friends and family and why they care about her. JUST LIKE REAL PEOPLE.

I enjoyed this series enormously and I'll read whatever Tammy Blackwell wants to write. At this point, I'd pay for a napkin with a sentence written on it because I know that that sentence will be better than 99% of the YA BS out there right now.
